18th Whitley Bay Cubs – Fun Day!

The 18th Whitley Bay District Cub Scouts are organising a Family Fun Day on Saturday 15th October to raise money for the Great North Air Ambulance (GNAAS). The group is fundraising to thank the GNAAS crew for everything they have done to support the local community in Whitley Bay over the summer.

The Fun Day will take place at the 18th Whitley Bay’s headquarters at the Methodist Church, Broadway, Cullercoats on Saturday 15th October from 11am to 3pm. There will be games, a penalty shoot-out, book stalls, charity car wash, a raffle, and food and refreshments, including candy floss, ice-cream and cake stalls.

The group have chosen to support the GNAAS after one their members received life-saving treatment during the summer having been left fighting for his life following a collision with a car.

Carl Hill, Cub Scout Leader at the 18th Whitley Bay District Scout Group said: “The Cubs were really keen to find a way to show their appreciation to the Great North Air Ambulance Service and it’s great to see everyone coming together and getting behind their fundraising efforts. All of the money raised at the event will be donated to the GNAAS to thank them for saving the life of one of our boys.

“We are hoping this will be a huge event with lots of activities for all the family and demonstrations and appearances from the Air Ambulance, Police dog handlers, Fire Service

and North Tyneside Steel Band. It would be great if leaders and families involved in scouting across the district were able to come along and support us on the day.”
