Whitley
Bay Scout Network is open to all 18-25 year olds whether you are an active
member of scouting or just missed out on all the fun earlier and thought
it was too late! Although we only started meeting last summer over the past
six months our fledgling group has grown increasingly popular, enjoying
activities as diverse as a summer BBQ, our own unforgettable version of
the popular television series 'Room 101' and a chocolate tasting evening!
We also recognise that many of our members have other commitments such as
being away at university but this should not deter you as we hold many of
our meetings in holidays so as many people as possible can attend!
Network members
can also take part in several award schemes including the three main scout
awards, Diamond, Platinum and the ultimate Queens Scout Award as well as
undertaking the challenge offered through the Duke of Edinburgh's award
scheme. As a unit, Network also offers members a chance to work with other
sections and the wider community as whole through three themed service badges;
Environment, Faith and International. Finally, every Network member is given
the chance to take part in the Explorer Belt award involving a ten-day expedition
to another country.
Whatever your current position
in scouting or you're entirely new to the association we would love to meet
you!
