Kieran Horvath –  District Youth Commissioner

I am the oldest member of the Youth Commissioner Team, I have been involved with scouting since beavers (only 17 years) and I’m currently an Explorer Scout Leader. Scouting has inspired me to strive forwards in life and taught me invaluable life and outdoor skills, skills that I truly tested when I went to the Amazon Rainforest in 2016 on a research expedition. My time in Scouts helped ignite a passion for learning and exploring that guided me towards undertaking a geography degree and my helped lead me to my ambition of becoming a Royal Navy Officer.

I am a strong believer that the focus of scouting should be the young people that it is formed around and I am excited that young people’s voices are being recognised in all aspects of scouting and I feel privileged to be a part of this new phase of the organisation.
