Congratulations to the 21st Whitley Bay who won the District Cub Chess Competiton, with 8th Whitley Bay as runner up.

Congratulations to the 5th Whitley Bay Cub pack, winners of the 2008 District 5 a side football competition held at JJB Soccer Dome, and to the 18th Whitley Bay who were the runners up. Well done to all the teams who took part.

Congratulations to the 18th Whitley Bay and the 8th Whitley Bay who were the winners and runners up in the recent District 5 a side football competition held at Concordia Leisure Centre.

Well done to the 21st Whitley Bay who won the District Chess competition in a very competitive final against the 8th Whitley Bay.

Well done to all the teams and leaders for their support in these competitions

 

Cub Camp 2006

Arthur Clark Football Cup Comp winners (18th) runners up (1/7/15/20)

Whitley Bay Cubs held a Junk Craft modelling Competition. The theme was “Dr Who meets Whitley Bay Cubs”. Here is the winning model complete with Dalek Station and invading Daleks. Well done 1st / 7th who were the winning team.

This District Cub Scout competition was won jointly by 8th and 21st Packs.

18th WB Cubs - joint winners of the Cubs Gala

Beaver and Cub Scouts recently took part in a very successful evening of splashing, swimming and fun at Tynemouth Pool. Winners of the Beavers Splasharama were 17th Whitley Bay Colony and the 17th and 18th Whitley Bay Cub Packs were joint winners of the Cub Scout Swimarama.

Half a million Scouts and Guides were on air over the weekend for the largest jamboree in the world.
From Whitley Bay to Winnipeg, thousands of Scouting experiences were exchanged, friendships made and ideas shared at the 48th Jamboree on the Air (JOTA).
Running over a 48-hour period, Jamboree on the Air (JOTA) is an annual event in which about 500,000 Scouts and Guides all over the world make contacts with each other by means of amateur radio.
Modern technology allows Members to make friends in other parts of the globe without leaving home.It is the sheer excitement of having a live conversation with a fellow Scout or Guide in some other place in the world that attracts so many young people to this event.
Whitley Bay Scouts set up their base at the 9th Whitley Bay Scout HQ at Briardene. A spokesperson for Whitley Bay Scouts said: - "Many of our young people have enjoyed the fun and friendship of camping with young people from around the world and this was another scouting adventure which would enhance their International awareness".


Cub Scouts from the 1st/7th and 17th Cub Packs who represented Whitley Bay in the County Peel Award. The 17th came joint second.

Cubs and Scouts from groups in Whitley Bay recently enjoyed a taster day in canoeing and sailing at Ladyburn Lake, Druridge.

Arthur Clarke Cup
Cubs from the 9th and 18th Packs who were finalists in the Arthur Clarke Football Cup. The 9th were the eventual winners.

5th Whitley Bay Cubs are pictured listening to Richard Sanderson from Children's Vision International. The Cubs presented a cheque for £134 which they had raised from a sponsored silence in March.

The 18th Whitley Bay Cub Pack Team complete with scissors and glue who won the Whitley Bay District Cub Scout Junk Modeling competition held on 19th March 2005.

RAMA BONE

Cub Scout Games Competition.

On 1st March 10 teams of Cub Scouts representing Packs from around the District gathered at the District HQ for the Rama Bone games competition.  The theme was Wales and St David and the Cubs had a fun evening playing games.  After a hard fought battle the 20th emerged the winners with the 19th runners up.  Congratulations to both teams and thank you to the Leaders who ran the games bases and to the Service Team who provided the refreshments.


Congratulations to the 18th Whitley Bay Cubs 5 a side team who won the recent competition at Concordia.

District Cub Scout 5 a side Competition – 30th January 2005

On Sunday 30th January 7 packs (9 teams in all) took part in 2½ hours of very good and competitive football.

54 Cubs aged between 8 and 10 ½, scored 92 goals in open play, with 7 games with no score and the final begin settled on penalties 3-2 in favour of the 18th A team, the final winners.

A big thank to all who took part, the time keepers, goal administrators and to the 2 referees Hal and Malcolm for the excellent way they performed the hardest job of all.
